What we do

Production services for studios, stages and live events

videlyzo supports producers, directors and event organisers with the technical side of a show. We specify and tune studio camera systems, design lighting, engineer audio, coordinate live crews and build the signal routing that holds it all together. Portrait sessions for presenters and guests are also available.

  • Studio Camera Systems

Planning, setup and tuning of multi-camera studio systems for television programmes and presenter-led shows.

  • Lighting Design

Lighting plans for studio sets and live stages that flatter presenters and keep exposure consistent across cameras.

  • Audio Engineering

Microphone plans, mixing and monitoring so speech and music stay clean through rehearsal and live transmission.

  • Live Event Production

Crew coordination, vision mixing and run-of-show planning for conferences, concerts and televised events.

  • Workflow and Signal Routing

Design of cabling, signal routing and intercom workflows that connect cameras, graphics and playout reliably.

How a job runs

From first conversation to transmission day

Every production is different, but the order of work rarely changes. We start by understanding the programme or event, plan the technical side on paper, and test it before anyone is on air. Each step ends with something you can read and agree.

Picture first

We begin with how the show should look. That decides camera types, lens choices and positions, and in turn the lighting needed to keep exposure even across every camera. Presenters are lit to look natural rather than flat, and sets are checked on camera instead of by eye. Small changes at this stage, such as moving a desk or changing a backdrop colour, often solve problems that equipment alone would not.

Sound that holds up

Speech must stay clear through rehearsal and live transmission. We choose microphones to suit the room and the speakers, plan placement to reduce spill and handling noise, and set up monitoring so the engineer hears what the audience hears. Priya and the audio team check levels at every position before the first take, because problems are far cheaper to fix in setup than on air.

Reliable signal paths

Cabling, routing and intercom are rarely noticed when they work, which is the aim. We design signal paths that are labelled, tested and easy for a crew to follow. If a cable fails or an input drops, the operator should know where to look. We also train crews on the systems we specify, so the knowledge stays with your team after we leave.

Studio programme or live event: what changes
ConsiderationStudio camera systemsLive event production
EnvironmentControlled studio with fixed set, lighting grid and known acoustics.Venue with its own limits on power, access, light and sound.
Planning focusCamera matching, set lighting and repeatable setups for regular programmes.Run of show, crew coordination and contingency for a single occasion.
CrewOften a settled team that benefits from training on the system.Crew may be assembled for the day and needs clear cues and intercom.
RehearsalCan be repeated and refined across several sessions.Limited time, so the plan must be tested early and carefully.
Typical resultA tuned system the crew can run week after week.A smooth transmission on the day, with notes for next time.

Many projects mix the two, such as a studio show with a live audience. Tell us which parts matter most and we will weigh the plan accordingly.

FAQ

Questions we hear often

These are the practical points producers and organisers raise first. If yours is not here, send it through the contact page and we will answer directly.

What kinds of productions do you support?
We work on television programmes, presenter-led studio shows, conferences, concerts and televised events. Each project is planned around its own format and venue. We can support one area, such as lighting or audio, or look after the technical plan as a whole.
Can you work with equipment we already own?
Yes. We usually start by reviewing what you have and what it can do. Where something is limiting the picture or sound, we say so and suggest options, but we do not recommend replacements without a reason.
Do you travel outside Taunton?
We are based in Taunton and work at venues and studios elsewhere when the project requires it. Travel and any overnight needs are discussed during scoping and shown in the written quotation.
How early should we get in touch?
As early as the format and date are known. Planning cameras, lighting, audio and routing together takes time, and an early conversation leaves room to rehearse. Later enquiries are still welcome, and we will tell you plainly what can be done.
Do you provide crew as well as advice?
We coordinate crews, vision mixing and run-of-show planning for live events, and we train existing crews on the systems we specify. The exact make-up of a team is agreed per project and written into the quotation.
How do prices work?
Each service has a price on the Prices page, along with what it includes and what can change it. You send an enquiry, receive a written quotation, and pay by invoice using bank transfer.
Can we book a portrait session for presenters?
Studio portrait sessions are offered for presenters, guests and promotional stills, with controlled lighting and camera setups. Send an enquiry through the contact page with the number of people and the intended use.
What happens if our plans change?
Productions change, and we expect that. Tell us as soon as you know and we will adjust the plan. Cancellations and any refunds follow the payment and refund policy, which you can read before you confirm.
